Module 1. Mapping the Terrain: Trends and Horizons

We learn to navigate the 2026 model landscape, calculate the economics of our own work, and design prompts as engineering artifacts.

  • A systematic overview of the landscape: the key proprietary and open-weight players of 2026, reading benchmarks, the difference between executor models and reasoning models, choosing a model for the task.
  • Trends: from chatbots to agentic workflows: three waves of AI tools, how an agent differs from a chatbot, the MCP/A2A protocols, orchestration frameworks, the rise of SLMs, and forecasts for 2027–2028.
  • The economics of your own work: where AI really speeds you up and where it slows you down – measurements from the Copilot RCT, the Google RCT, METR 2025, and a personal calculation of subscription payback.
  • Prompting as design: Chain-of-Thought and its variants, system roles, meta-prompting and auto-optimization, fighting hallucinations and context rot.
  • Practice: five prompting techniques (zero-shot, system persona, chain of thought, few-shot, self-correction) applied to two end-to-end work scenarios.

Module 2. Deep Dive into AI IDEs

We turn the IDE into a full-fledged digital teammate that understands the context of the entire project.

  • Cursor vs Windsurf vs Copilot: a comparison by architecture, context models, agentic capabilities, code generation, price, and security, plus principles for choosing a tool.
  • Setting up the environment: the evolution of .cursorrules, types and architecture of rules, code standards, Memory Bank, team practices and Skills, equivalents in Windsurf and Copilot.
  • AI in the terminal: Copilot CLI, sgpt, Aider, Claude Code, Warp – automating console routine, agentic workflows, security, and selection criteria.
  • Practice: walk into an unfamiliar "messy" project and clean it up in one evening with almost no hand-written code – submitted as a public GitHub fork with a report.

Module 3. Using Ready-Made MCP Servers

Model Context Protocol in practice: we connect ready-made servers to the IDE and build a minimal one of our own with FastMCP.

  • Connecting via MCP: the M×N integration problem, the architecture and three primitives, lifecycle, transports, connecting to real systems, security and trade-offs.
  • Workshop "MCP in 10 minutes": your own MCP server in Python (FastMCP) and TypeScript – from choosing an SDK and designing contracts to launch, debugging, and monitoring.
  • Practice: a minimal MCP server with 2–3 tools for managing the key entity of your course project – the artifact is reused in Modules 4 and 6.

Module 4. Zero-Coding UI: From Design to Code

We build interfaces without hand-coding the layout – from prompts, Figma, and design tokens.

  • Prompt-to-UI: v0.dev, Bolt.new, Lovable, Claude Design, Google Stitch, Pencil Dev – a selection matrix, pricing and the 2026 stack, senior-level prompting practices, security risks, and vendor lock-in.
  • Figma + code: the Figma MCP server, plugins and VS Code, W3C DTCG design tokens, a two-way pipeline, Code Connect and Skills, production scenarios.
  • An interface for automations: quickly building an admin panel for internal scripts and AI agents – from choosing an approach to architecture, security, monitoring, and deployment.
  • Practice: a unified design system on the course project's frontend, an entity management dashboard, and a DESIGN.md embedded in the IDE rules file.

Module 5. AI in Development Processes

We delegate code review, documentation, and tests to AI – embedding AI into the team's daily process.

  • AI Code Review: the limits of static analyzers, the 2026 tool market, a reference architecture, prompt instructions, CI/CD integration, and multi-agent review.
  • Living documentation and knowledge base: documentation-as-pipeline, two documentation contracts (for humans and for agents), README/API/ADR, automating changelogs and release notes, quality metrics.
  • Synthetic Testing: generating test plans, test cases, and test data with AI, multi-agent pipelines, PBT, mutation testing, load testing, and fuzzing.
  • Spec-Driven Development: AI works from a specification rather than scattered prompts – connecting the analyst's work with AI from requirements to plan, code, and tests.
  • Practice: the "Controller Agent" assignment in 4 stages (~7–9 hours) – multi-agent code review, fixing the top 3 findings, living documentation, and test generation by a test agent.

Module 6. Agents and n8n: Building an Orchestrator

We turn the project from a set of tools into an autonomous system capable of making decisions.

  • Anatomy of an agent: how a simple LLM call differs from an agent loop, the ReAct and Plan-and-Execute architectures, memory management, error handling, the 2026 framework landscape, and the Replit production incident.
  • Low-code orchestration in n8n: workflow architecture, the rule for choosing an integration, working with MCP in both directions, data passing, debugging, monitoring, and an end-to-end support agent case.
  • State management: why an agent needs state, user isolation, and choosing a memory type along with its economics.
  • UI + Agent + MCP: an end-to-end architecture with streaming, orchestration in n8n, deterministic guardrails, observability, and evals – using a task automation assistant as the example.
  • Practice: two n8n workflows on the course project that close the MCP + Dashboard + Agent loop, with a hallucination test and two Claude Code subagents.

Module 7. Strategy: Legacy and Adoption

The strategic finale: AI modernization of legacy code, the corporate security minimum, and adopting AI in your team.

  • Strategies for working with legacy: seven rules of safe refactoring, a five-phase framework based on ExecPlan, the tool landscape, Claude Code playbooks, typical failures, and public cases from 2024–2026.
  • Security in a corporate environment: why leading tools are incompatible with strict NDAs by default (the Samsung case), data classification – what can be sent to the cloud, retention, and provider limitations.
  • Adoption in the team: a pilot with baselines and criteria defined before launch, overcoming resistance, differences across engineer levels, and measurement pitfalls.

  • Cursor vs Windsurf vs Copilot:

  • Prompt-to-UI: v0.dev, Bolt.new, Lovable, Claude Design, Google Stitch, Pencil Dev – матрица выбора, тарифы и стек 2026, Senior-практики промптинга, риски безопасности и vendor lock-in.
